Alison Hodges, the founder and principal of Colibris Consulting, is a freelance writer with over 18 years of technical writing and editing experience.

Located in the Boston area, Alison offers her expertise to software companies that need to resolve documentation bottlenecks. Available on a short term basis, Alison's goal is to produce, quickly and efficiently, high quality documentation deliverables that your clients will actually use.

Alison's portfolio includes guides and help systems for pharmaceutical, telecommunications, and financial software products and for telecommunications hardware products. Outside the high tech industry, Alison has also copy edited and proofread non-fiction books.

Most of Alison's employment history has been at small start up companies where she was the sole technical writer, responsible for all phases of the documentation process, from design to delivery. Alison also has experience working for larger companies, where adhering to style guides, templates, and the procedural and legal requirements of clients is essential to producing technical publications successfully.
